In the high season, music programmes and festivals entertain the guests. This corner of Southern Transdanubia has an excellent micro-climate. The number of sunny hours exceeds 2100. They contribute to the success of the days spent here.
The medicinal bath of Harkány
The medicinal bath is looking forward to our guests by offering a wild park on 13.5 hectares, a water surface of 7600 m2, covered recreation areas on 5.000 m2, 3 medicinal pools and 5 swimming pools, a show-bath (2 Jacuzzis, 2 swirling pools, 2 saunas, 2 steam cabins). The temperature of the water is between 38 C° and 24 C° in the pools.
Composition and the effects of the medicinal water of Harkány
Based on the composition of minerals, the medicinal water of the Harkány medicinal bath belongs to simple sulphuric waters but, if it is compared to the other sulphur-containing medicinal waters of Hungary, its oxidisable sulphur content is extremely high. The speciality of the water is due to that the sulphur compound includes carbonyl sulphide, which is absorbed and which exercises its beneficial effect than any other sulphates. Thanks to these features, it is suitable to treat the illnesses of the movement organs and rheumatic, dermatologic and gynaecologic diseases. The advantageous climate of Harkány supplements the above excellently.
