Treatments
The treatments of the Harkány movement organs healing cure, of which the doctor will select the one appropriate to you:
Tangentor (under-water massage by water jet) – by this treatment, in a bath-tub, water jet stimulates the surface of damaged muscles in a way prescribed by the doctor up to trying to restore their normal operation. This health service can be applied without medical examination as well.
Curative massage – during which stiffening of the muscles is reduced, the blood supply is improved, the delivery of mediators maintaining the inflammatory flows is increased therefore, inflammation and the pain of the muscles are reduced. The effect can be increased by special remedial gymnastics further. This health service can be applied without medical examination as well.
Mud treatment –during which, in addition to lasting heat effect, the biologically active agents exercise a healing effect in a way that they are absorbed from the mud through the skin. In addition to the considerable antiphlogistic effect, it is a special feature of the treatment applied with us is that the sterile natural mud is drenched by the Harkány medicinal water. The mud is packed into a filter, which serves the comfort of our guests.
Remedial gymnastics – it reduces or, in many cases, it improves the chance of removing the reduced movement ability that was developed for various reasons. The ill body part is moved by the aid of a highly qualified physical therapist. They pay much attention to teach their guests the series of movements, exercises in order that they can continue the exercises on their own, in their homes.
Electric therapy – it is indispensable when the diseases of the movement organs and rheumatic diseases are treated. Ultrasound, hydro-voltaic cells, TENS-treatment, magneto-therapy, iontophoresis and stimulating current reduce the pain and make the movement of the patients easier. The specialised doctors of the spa prescribe the combination of the most appropriate treatments available at all times.
Carbonated tub-bath -as a result of the aorta dilating effect of carbon-dioxide introduced into the water, peripheral circulation is improved and the heart can be charged more. The carbonated bath is recommended primarily to guests that cannot use the hotter medicinal water because of some treated illnesses of the heart and/or vascular system.
Reflex massage – owing to the appropriate massaging of points of the sole, the functioning of organ systems can be optimised in many cases. The defending ability of the body is improved, self-healing mechanisms are stimulated.

The use of medicinal water is counter-indicated for patients in the active status of inflammation and abrasion diseases of the movement organs, malignant tumour (including leukaemia), conditions with high fever, phlebitis, thrombosis, heart and circulation deficiency, fixed hypertonia, haemophilia, condition after heart stroke (for 6 months), tuberculosis, hyperthyroidism (Basedow’s disease), pregnancy, insanity (psychosis), inability to self-supply, defecation and urine incontinence.
